The Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center offers patients a one-stop resource for the diagnosis, treatment and management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
Under the leadership of Kenneth Rubin, MD, Director of the IBD Center, and Barry Zingler, MD, EHMC Section Chief of Gastroenterology, the Center will work in cooperation with Mt. Sinai and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation to serve patients in Bergen, Hudson and Rockland counties.
The Center takes a multidisciplinary approach to addressing the personal and individual needs of the IBD patient.
The IBD medical team, including gastroenterologists, colorectal surgeons and pediatric gastroenterologists, will work closely physicians from other disciplines, including OBGyns, Pathologists and Radiologists, to provide comprehensive care.
The emotional and nutritional needs of the IBD patient will also be addressed, providing consultations on stress and pain management, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), relaxation training and nutritional aids and guidance when warranted.
The Center’s commitment to excellence of care will be anchored by an academic approach. The Center’s team of IBD experts will contribute to the medical literature on IBD and to the development of pathology, infusion and other clinical protocols, with the aim of achieving the most effective and most standardized IBD treatments.
